Working Girl

That's right, you are now reading a working girls blog. I finally have my first job! I am the new worker of Panda Express. Can somebody say yum? I am excited, nervous, and anxious. It took me a while to get the job but I finally did!

Job = Money = CAR! Every thing a teenage dreams about. Their first car and having their first job.

Wish me luck.

CONGRATS!

To my sister, Amanda, for graduating from Highline Community College!

I hate graduations. I hate them so much I've considered not going to my own. Although I hate them I know I will still go to my own. The speeches are long, my seats are always far away, its crowded, and I can never get my self to really pay attention.

I will say, I like the feeling I get at the beginning when the grads are walking to their seats. Loud music plays. Students waving to their loved ones. Faces full of excitement and joy. I get this overwhelming feeling of " this is the most important day of their life, they're on to bigger and better things". The feeling slowly dies off once the speeches start.

I arrived at the ShoWare Center in Kent, WA at 7 p.m. and found seats with my family and friends. I'm not sure what time it ended, all I remember was arriving home at 10. And that there was a ton of great fatty foods awaiting at my house. Yum.

We had pizza, cookies, cakes, drinks, and some other things. Hey don't call me fat. I know I am. But don't deny that you've never been to a party like this either! I bet it was probably one of the best ones you've been to!

I'm tired. I should have written earlier. Oh, well.

Goodnight.. errr... me?

Delicious fat food

I love food. I love it as much as I love my mom. Food is my friend. It is my soft comforter. It is my nightly shower. They are my squishy pillows. Does that make any sense to you? ehh. It may or it may not.

I love to cook and experiment with new recipes. More often than not I turn to Pinterest for new recipes. If you don't know what Pinterest is I highly recommend it. A few things I've made are Bell Peppers and Beef, Chicken Broccoli Braid, Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers with Bacon, Stuffed Bell Peppers filled with turkey sausage and brown rice. Those are just on the top of my head. I've made more, I just can't remember.

Today I wanted to share with you, or I guess myself since I have no audience, a recipe that I've tweeked to my liking.

Bell Peppers and Beef Chicken

I rarely ever have beef in my house. My house is mainly a pork and chicken place. Plus, I just love chicken so much more.

Ingredients:
1/2 red bell pepper
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 yellow bell pepper
1/2 small white onion
1/3 cup of mushrooms
1 or 2 large tomatoes
2 chicken breasts
1 tablespoon of veggie oil
1/2 cup of water

Directions
1. slice all of the veggies into thin slices
2. slice the chicken thin as well
3. cook the chicken in a non-stick skillet with the veggie oil
4. once the chicken is cooked add all of the veggies and 1/2 cup of water
5. cover your skillet with a lid and let it simmer for 20 minutes, occasionally stirring
* Add more water if the water in the skillet starts to evaporate
6. Remember, the chicken should be cooked already before adding the veggies. Your veggies will be done once they are tender and there should only be a little liquid left, the chicken will be tender as well!

Sauce:
2 Tablespoons of water
1 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch
2 Tablespoons of seasoning sauce, or soy sauce
2 teaspoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of orange juice

Directions
1. Mix the cornstarch and water in a bowl
2. Add the rest of the sauce ingredients to the water and cornstarch and stir
3. Once the veggies and chicken are done add the sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens. After it thickens turn off the stove and serve it over a bed of white rice. Delicious! Enjoy!

A delicious summer drink to go with that meal would be a Snapple and Sprite.

I mix diet peach Snapple powder with water in a pitcher, finely dice 1 ripe mango, then add it to the pitcher as well and let it sit in the fridge for an  hour or so. The longer the better so the mango flavor can be infused! If you want, I would add a green tea bag as well. Once the drink is done I pour it in a glass with a little bit of sprite to give it that refreshing taste! Try it, you won't be sorry.

Where are the pictures of these delicious foods you ask?? They're in my phone, I'll have to upload them later. But for now, use your imagination. Better yet, go try these recipes!

Shania's Birthday

Yesterday was one of my best friends birthday. Her name is Shania and she turned the big one seven. It's strange to talk about it past tense when I feel like it was really today. I am writing this at 1:54 a.m. Everything still feels like the 6th and not the 7th.

We surprised her with chocolate cupcakes topped with fudge icing. And I can't forget about the cheesy party décor from the Dollar Tree. Yes. The Dollar Tree. It has everything. Although their quality isn't perfect I think it did it's justice for that special day. Hey don't you judge me, I'm cheap, I'm poor, and still waiting on a call from Panda Express for an interview!

Our décor consisted of shiny pastel colored balloons we had to blow up, and failed miserably at times. On one balloon I wrote, Gettin' da chedda since 96', with my trusty stead Isabel. I know what your thinking. What the hell kind of writing is that? The party was pimp themed. It was a joke, of course. So, don't take it too serious.

On the cardboard cupcake holder we scribbled out the word 'Princess' and wrote PIMP or BAMF. For those of you who don't know what BAMF stands for. Well.. google it, at your own discretion. There is a bad word in that acronym, just a fair warning for those who have innocent eyes and ears. That use to be me at point. I grew out of it as you can tell. We also bought a whole bunch of other random stuff. But truthfully I am just to dog gone lazy and slightly tired to even list out the other things we purchased.

Now for the candles, we stuck seventeen cute tiny candles on the cupcake. Having to light all seventeen candles can be time consuming and dangerous. Yes.. dangerous. We almost burnt the cupcake holder with the cupcakes that were first lit. They sat there patiently waiting as we lit the other candles. They must have gotten angry or jealous because things took a turn for the worst and they started moving their flames all over the place! Crazy little candles I tell ya. At last, I am still here so everything turned out great.

Shania, walked into the dining room with her shiny blue fake pimp hat while I blasted In da club by 50 cent. A tradition we hold for each of our birthday.

The party might have been cheaply decorated and slightly messy but that's okay. Being in the presences of great friends makes up for the lack of looks.
